About Me

Some background about myself and my motivation for this Website.

Hi and a very warm welcome to you.

I would like to invite you to join with me in making a difference to the planet and to our own lives by living sustainably – by using resources creatively and wisely, by making small adjustments to the way we live.

One of the main motivations for me taking this step is the concern being expressed by the children of today. They are scared and they are telling us that they want us to deal with this problem – NOW.

The heartening thing is that it is achievable by us all, no matter how small the changes we make.  And of course, it is not a new phenomenon – we have been here before.  Some people never left it. I am a ‘baby-boomer’ and so this trend towards sustainably and living in harmony with Nature’s laws is not new to me.  My interest was sparked by the lifestyle of the 60s & 70’s where people who were pursuing this lifestyle were classified as ‘hippies’.

It is pleasing to see the trend happening again; this time however, it should be much easier as there are now many more products on the market, all designed to reduce our demands on the natural resources of this planet.  And of course, as the demand grows, the cost will reduce – we all benefit.

Through this website, it is my intention to be able to provide you with a wealth of information on a variety of subjects to assist you to live a sustainable lifestyle and to be able to do this in the most cost-effective manner.

I don’t claim to be an expert on any of these subjects, but I do have a desire to learn all I can, hence my intention to be interviewing ‘experts’ in their relative fields so that you can be informed and then make your choices from that knowledge.

I also intend to interview people who are living the sustainable lifestyle and I am especially interested in people who are either currently building their home or intend to build.  My particular passion is pressed-brick as you will have noticed from my eBook, but I would love to showcase any one who is building using alternative methods.  And not to forget those folk who are building with conventional materials in unconventional ways.

Please contact me at niki@yourgreenlife.org if you fall into this category (or know someone who is) and are keen to share your knowledge with the rest of us; to let us follow you on your journey.  It is extremely inspirational to see what can be done.

Also, if you come across a product/event/process that you feel would be of interest to others, I would love to hear from you. Email me at niki@yourgreenlife.org. Knowledge is Empowering!

There is so much information now available on the ‘Net’ so this is an extremely exciting time to be around. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.  Remember, future generations are depending on us to get this right.

By taking action, we can show our children that they can depend on us to fix things for them! To give them the carefree, happy and healthy childhood they deserve and expect us to provide for them. They should not be worrying about things like the health of our planet.

Wishing you success and freedom.
